Default Raynox 150 or 250?

I am new to photography and love close ups. I have a canon powershot S5
the Macro is brill however I was thinking of getting the Raynox. Which one is best the 150 or 250? Also i read you need a Adapter tube.does the raynox just fit on the end of your camera lens?
What else do i need to get started on close up

if you are new to photography i would probably work on my skills with just the S5 for now. just my opinion. and spend the money on a nice tripod.

however, if you still want to get the adapter:
as a new photographer, i would stick with the adapters with less magnification (150) as they are much easier to work with as you will have a very small dof with the 250 and it could be frustrating. once you have mastered the 150, you can consider getting the 250 as well.

you will want a tripod with this raynox. so if you are getting my not so subtle hints that you should get a nice tripod if you don't have one. if you do have one, you can ignore these "hints"

I say new to photography, I have always loved it and take photos however my new interest is close ups..I have used the camera for a few months as it was new so still getting familiar with it..
I know your basic stuff ..
But do get confused at all the different lenses etc...
Thanks for advice, I will get a 150 for now and see how I go with that
