Default coated lens?

i just bought a uv filter for my camera but i cheaped out and bought a non coated one. is there a big difference between coated and non coated lens? should i have went for the coated lens?

In my opinion (operative words!), multi-coatings are important but only part of the filter quality equation. The other parts are quality of the glass itself and build quality. Of the three pieces, I put quality of the glass first, build quality second, and coatings third. I think most of us use a UV filter for lens protection and in this situation, coatings are an added plus but not a deal breaker.
