1. What can anyone tell me about Opteka lenses ?

2. Has anyone here used them and for the "dollar" are they any good ?

I realize a $1000.00 Lense is better then a $100.00 one.

Generally, these lenses are not the greatest optical quality - blurry images, purple fringing (CA), etc. People usually pick these up off E-bay where they may be advertised "2 for $59.95", "manufactured exclusively for digital cameras", and alike. My best advice is to stay away from these.

There are many good brands available to include Olympus (the TCON and WCON series), Sony, Minolta, and Raynox. I've been exceptionally satified with Pemaraal Online ( http://www.b-300.com/index.html ) and they have some sample shots comparing lenses. Bell & Howell and other major photo dealers (online and "brick and mortar") also are good sources.

Hope this helps a little. Good luck with your search.

I picked up a 3 pack Opteka filter kit for $32 + SH on ebay.
AND it came with the manufacture lens adapter (typically $25 alone).

Got no complaints on it at all.
Didnt have any problems with blurry images or fringing.

But then again, I have nothing to compare it to (other brands).
