I am new to the SLR market and I have been doing a lot of research as to what camera to buy and decided on the canon reble xt. I have now started searching for the best possible price and found a deal on the camera and it comes with 2 lenses, The Tamron autofocus28-80mm f3.5-5.6 aspherical zoom lens and Tamron autofocus 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ld 1:2 macro zoom lens. I plan on shooting mainly outdoor sports, soccer, car racing and candid shots of the family. I have read where some say the kit lens that comes on the camera most of the time is not good although because I am new I am not sure I would be able to tell. I would love to hear anyone thoughts.

You should checkout the "Canon Lens" forum for lens discussions. You might even re-post this there. In general, you might be better off with the 18-55 kit lens. The 28-80 is just not wide enough.

Be sure to checkout Cameta on eBay for camera and lens packages:
