Can someone look at this picture for me and tell me what you think of the focus. I'm just starting to work with manual settings so I feela bit silly asking what is probably a very basic question but hey... you gotta start somewhere. I have run into the same problem at zoos, where you can focus on part of the subject but not all of it. Do you focus on what is closest to you? Here I focused on her eye and I noticed her nose is out of focus. Would it have been better to focus on her nose instead? Goodness, I'm all full of questions. You guys are going to hate me.

Poppet, my 11 week old Golden. She is a good sport.

You might want to try a higher f. number. Her eye is in focus and almost everything else isn't. A higher f number will give you a greater depth of field or depth of focus area. Keep them coming and welcome to the forums.
