The names of Iowa State University dead from WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam are enscribed on the walls of this hall, constructed in 1928.

Above the entrance, a poem by John Drinkwater:

For Thee they died
Master and Maker, God of Right
The Soldier dead are at Thy gate
Who kept the spears of honor bright
And Freedom's house inviolate.

Zodiac at the entrance to Gold Star Hall. The intent of the designer was for foot traffic to wear down the bronze figures flush with the stone. However, a superstition arose that walking on it would causeone to fail one's next test. As a result, people still walk around it when leaving the building, and the wear has been very slow.

Nice shots, when were you back in the home state? I know these weren't the only 2 pics you took... Show everyone how great Iowa is.

Well, there's this::lol:

I spent a lot of hours in here. Bacteriology lecture hall. Remarkably, nothing noticable has changed in 33 years, not even the lectern or the overhead cart. If it gets much older, it will qualify as an antiquity.
