Default Heavenly stairway?

I took this while in Chicago recently and I am interested in your reaction to it. I was just waiting around in an alley with nothing interesting to do and noticed this fire escape stairway reaching up to...

Wow.....I really like this picture! Actually makes my eyes hurt looking up! that seems like what would really happen if I were there! Cool!!!

The week before i was in San Fransisco.. I've been trying to take a good shot of a stairway like this... It didn't work out..
But this is really beautifull!

Great shot Selvin - very innovative I think. A good composition and the white in the top give an impression of sky and hights. Very good observation - it's obvious you are thinking photo here!

But (always a but...huh!) I would cut out the blue bottom!

Graham, I took another look and I didn't take any other picture except the one below. Which shows another interesting perspective.



Klaus, you are correct as usual, yes the blue should go.

Shallow runner, like you said it did hurt the eyes looking up too long at the top. The Chicago skies were hazy but lots of glare - perhaps from the pollution that day.
