This is with my new, but old, 300mm F2.8 lens on my NIkon D300. I am really pleased with the lens even if it does weigh a ton!

Nice shot, a rather unusual subject matter for that lens. Caryl, that one is just begging to be used for some distant action shots.

Try it out, and let us see how it does.

I am just learning it. It is very heavy. I just shot the moon and am going to post it. I have been using a monopod but need my tripod.

Congrats on your new but old lens : ) So, 300mm @ F2.8 !!Its merits will surely outweigh its physical weight for shooting architectural details,performances, social eventsetc. as Barbarian has also suggested

The picture has some kind of film noir (or perhaps film gris :-)) feel to it. Very expressive. What time of the day
