Hello all,

I took these from the Berlin TV tower. The visitors platform is about 204m above the ground, I used a 24mm lens on a Pentax DL2 dSLR, ISO200, 1/13s, f/2.8, handheld. Had to shoot through the windows, it was already late, it started to get foggy... still I think there is *something* in these images, the light, the colors, the overall feeling. Maybe you like them, too?

Regards,
Th.

Yes, like them a lot. The colour patches contrast especially well. Blue hour, you say. Often when I come home I can see those almost incredible blue colours on the monitor. Or even evenly dark blue. I ask myself - did it really look that way? (Camera set at normal colours, whatever that is)

I often visit a location far out in the harbour. I have made separate folders for

Pink
Yellow
Peach
Deep blue
Purple
etcetera

Wonder if it in any way follows the rainbow colour pattern (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple) What I mean is - what is the colour "line up" from late afternoon to darkness?

You say "Blue hour". Could you elaborate a little on that?

/T

@Torgny

"blue hour" refers to a special time of day in the morning and evening, when pictures come out blue(-ish). You might find that article in Wikioedia interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_hour

So it's nothing I invented, I just know that term and think it fits for these photos.

I took the photos around 16:30-17:00 or so if that helps... but it's really not the time, it's the lighting that makes a blue hour and depending on the season the blue hour starts sooner or later.

Regards,
Th.
