135 feet tall statue of Guru Padmasambhava at Samdruptse a hilltop located 7 kilometer away from Namchi, South Sikkim. Samdruptse means wish fulfilling hill. The hilltop offers a view of Namchi Town, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mt. Kanchandzonga and eastern part of Nepal. This statue of Guru Padmasambhava is the double the size of the famous Bronze Buddha statue at Kamakura, Japan.

That's a very nice shot. Good colors and DOF. Must be an awesome sight to actually be there looking up at that massive statue.

Impressive statue and likewise impressive shot with good composition, perspectice and colors. I spesially like the texture of the statue's surface around the 'clothing'. It's almost as if you can see the reflections of the sky and clouds in it as well.

Thank you for sharing this extraordinary sight!

That's a stunning picture and I see from the exif data it was shot with a Kodak DX6490. Out of all the cameras I own, or have used, my '6490 is the only one whose output needs no "improving" in a PP program....colour-wise anyway.

Delightful photograph and one which shows once again it is as much the photographer as the camera.
