Default Escondido City Hall

Escondido is a small city about an hour's drive northeast of San Diego. My wife and I took a drive there yesterday to visit a museum. I happened to notice the city hall structure, which was pretty impressive -- at least for here in Southern California. Interesting architecture is not around every corner. Anyway, here is the front of the building.

The entrance and interior courtyard features a lovely iron dome.

I agree the city hall architecture looks pretty impressive. I think that's what they call "art deco". I only learned about it after I took some photos of buildings at Rockefeller Center in NY and wanted to know more about its architectural style. From googling I learned that Miami has the largest number of art deco buildings in the world.

Great shots! I like the clear blue sky and the crowdless atmosphere.

vvcarpio, yes, the crowd was elsewhere. There was a "chocolate festival" downtown.

Very fancy City Hall...guess the citizens must not complain too much about their taxes.

Very nice images...I think I like the last 2 perspectives the best. Good clarity and sharpness as well as symmetry in compostion.

That's a very nice building and you captured it really well - I like them all, but my favourites are the last two! The angle in #4 is very nice
