Nice wide-angle shots, Barbarian. What lens?

The Barbarian,

Indeed skilful wide angel exposures. No distorsion what I can see. Lens or stitching?

Pentax 18-55. And yes, stitched with Microsoft ICE.

If you want the illusion of being there, and looking around, go here:

Use the sliders to look. It's not perfect when examined in detail; I was going handheld, in a rather dark place. But it's still pretty cool.

The Barbarian,

Visited the site you linked to. Impressive pictures. You did some very precise work on the Coliseum.

The name is quite interesting. A mix of high and "low" - suppose that's also a sign of Texan self confidence

Thanks for mentioning the app you used. I've been using an oldie "autostitch" which has worked fairly well, a newie "Hugin", which has a difficult UI and now I've installed ICE. first try, looks very good.

Thanks for your kind comments, Torgny. "Mixture of High and Low" could be the Texas motto.

Frank, I really like ICE. It seems to have a little trouble precisely fitting certain sweeping lines together, but cloning usually fixes those pretty well.

'Cause I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns
And the beer chases my blues away
And I'll be okay
I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the oasis
Oh, I've got friends in low places
