Thanks for your comments Vito and Klaus!
Got this idea from the total digital photography magazine where they were presenting examples of how an otherwise boring pic can become much more dramatic by using a red filter and converting to b&w.
I dont know if i succedeed doing so but i much prefered the above version than the colour one.
