This one is at the entrance to Yaquina Bay at Newport, Oregon. It is closed now and has been replaced by a remotely operated light on an ugly steel tower just out of the picture, to the right.

Is that the lighthouse you can see from the beach but you can't drive up to? I have photographed most of the lighthouses on the Oregon coast but I don't have this one.

Cal,

You can drive there. The road runs under the north end of the bridge from the waterfront area. Follow the "Scenic Drive" signs. From the parking lot where I took the lighthouse shot, if you look back towards the bridge, you will see this:

Other than possibly in need of a new roof, the lighthouse appears to be in great condition!

Gorgeous latticework on the porch.

Hmmmmmm......somewhat deep pockets + vision + sweat equity = a premier B&B?

:-):-)

Great idea!! You would have no trouble getting customers considering the awesome view to seaward. Unfortunately, the building and land are owned by the gummint.
