After several attempts, I finally got a chance to take this shot with blue skies. (well mostly blue)

very nice shot!

the colors are nice, and the placement of the lighthouse works well

the addition of the bird doesn't hurt :-p

Thanks. I actually waited for about a half hour for the gulls to be in the 'right' place. They were soaring on the updraft just out of the shot to the left.... didn't think they would move but then they did.

Bob,

I agree that a sunset shot would be great.... I'll definitely look for it the next time I'm there in the evening. Unfortunately, on this day, the clouds moved in and we had a "dimmer switch gray" sunset.
