Default Battery life, Dimage 7i

After reading yet another article criticizing the power drain on Minolta Dimage batteries, I have only this to say:

------I just got back from vacation. I had over 200 shots on 1 set of Kodak 1850mh batteries, when I changed the set for safety. Probably could've gotten another "roll" of film out of it......

I just don't see any problem here. And I was using a 1gig Microdrive...

... and I agree with monsieurms, that the average I normally got as well. May it's the charger!

Default It's a Myth...

I've shot with a 7i for over a year & the ONLY time I ran low on battery power was during an all day shoot (& also close to the end of my 1GB microdrives storace space. I always use at least 1850mah batteries & use them in my Vivitar 285HV too...I've never run out of flash even doing indoor shoots lasting 4hrs!

The reviews compare to cameras that consume less power. I have the Fuji 602, and with 1600 batteries, I consistently get 350 to 400 shots (no flash). I took about 250 pics at a wedding, using lots of flash, and still had power left at the end. From some reviews, the Sony 707 and 717 can, in theory, go way beyond these numbers. Now that Maha has its 2200 batteries out (these have been rated the best..... so far), the battery life should not be a problem with any camera.
