Do you guys know if it is safe to use a 7.2v battery with a canon T1i that originally came with a 7.4v? Opteka says its safe and so does the store that sells it. I am just wondering if any of you have used batteries with slightly lower Volts.

Have a look at this 3rd party battery. People on another forum swear by them regarding both performance and fit. I would think a 7.2V battery would work fine but personally, I'd want something that matches the voltage of the OEM battery.

0.2 V should not make much difference. It should still work, you may experience a tad slower recyle time when using the flash.
