Hi all,

I am very strongly considering purchasing the Canon SD500 soon as my first digital camera. Does anyone know what battery Canon is using in this? How popular of a battery is this among other digital cameras? What is the typical expected lifespan of a battery like this?

The camera works with Canon NB-3L battery, which is a popular one. Generally, Li-ion battery can be charged / recharged500 - 800 times. You can see http://ebuybatteries.com/battery_kno...ge-old-batteryfor more knowledge.
