I just purchased a Sony BCG-34HLD charger for my new Fuji S5200 digicam. It states in the instructions " The batteries should be full discharge before they are recharged". Is this a must, or can they just be almost out of juice. If they have to be fully drained do users just leave the camera on and let the batteries die before recharging again.

Do not ever fully discharge a NIMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery. Doing so may result in permanent damage. But it sells a lot of batteries.
