Hey all,

I'm been told that Lithium Ion batteries last about 300 charges before they become useless. I've also been told that they prefer to be charged up frequently rather than left to discharge completely.

So my question is this, if I charge up my Lithium Battery everytime it is half used, won't it reach that cap of 300 charges faster then if I let it run dry before I charge it?

Hello Keilan,

The rating you are referring to means that the battery should be good for 300 complete discharge cycles. If you only partially discharge (then charge back up) the batteriescan begood for 3000-5000 cycles.

I've had my camera which uses a Li-Ion battery since February of 2005. It gets charged up every day and I've never had a problem. I can take 300 to 400 photos per day before the "low battery" indicator comes on. Mine has never fully discharged.
