This was cool, the first day of a new challenge featuring sunsets and we were blessed with a beauty this evening! I am honored and humbled at the mention of my name in the description of this new challenge! Thank you Selvin! This was taken with my D-50 1/250, f-8, ISO 200 exposure bias -0.3 cropped, resized and usm.

Bob,

These are definitely up to your usual high standards. It's a tough choice between the two. I would give the second an edge. The Oly UZ series were a great line of cameras for their price amd the quality of shots they provided. I own a UZ730 and love it. I still occasionally use it when I need 10X.

I recently saw someone using the classic UZ2100 in New Zealand and they wouldn't part with it for anything.

Thanks for sharing. You've certainly confirmed my belief that great sunset shots need not be restricted to mountain or beach scenes.

Aloha

Thank you Selvin! You are right about these old Olys. I may have to rethink taking this camera with me in my kayak.

In both shots (I'd favour the first one though) the reflection of the setting sun and the clouds, the richly saturated colours, tasteful composition takes the man in the street to an alternative realm where beauty reigns only! I could even feel the cool breath of evening and the smell of grass and the lake. All together, that's been sooo poetic, Bob
