This is an interesting but possibly controverial photo. You got the repetition in the patterns of the falling water, however I would have preferred a bit shorter exposure. I happen to like "fuzzy water" photo and shoot them whenever I get an opportunity. However, I generally don't use an exposure longer than 2 seconds for a waterfall or rapids in a stream. In this case (in my opinion) the long exposure makes the image look artificial or posterized. I didn't check the EXIF data but I'm guessing you use an exposure of 10 seconds or more.

Selvin doesn't care for fuzzy water all. However, in my opinion, a short exposure that freezes the water also makes the water look artificial. There is a very fine line between what works and what does not and the the exposure times will be different in different situations. It is good to bracket the shutter speed over several shots and pick the one you think looks best.

Thank you for your feedback Cal, here is a couple more with faster shutter speeds.

1/25 sec @ F16

1/10 sec @F22

Best Regards,

Mag,

I agree with Cal that the first submission tends to be too long and the cottony effect is way too artificial.

Cal is right I shy away from the cotton effect.

With regards to your re-takes, I prefer the 1/25th second shot. Remember these are personal preferences.
