I hope this pic qualifies for this concept ... I think it does.

Please forgive the somewhat noisy image, my camera is a 2MP model (I'm currently shopping for an upgrade.)

I really want to start learning more about photography, so criticism is welcome.

Joanne,

Welcome. These leaves are an excellent idea for our challenge. Nature has a lots of great examples.

Don't worry too much about having a 2MP camera at the moment. Not knowing the capabilities of your camera next time you might want to try a close up that shows the twirling patterns of the center of the leaves.

Welcome Joanie, this is certainly the place to learn! ask and the info flows freely, a great little community . Nice first image, you've have made me remember a photo of a similar fern from a different perspective that will fit this challenge. So thank you. It's called "fern light" take a look.

Thanks for the welcome all, And I'm glad I got the idea right!

I am SO impressed with the all photos I'm seeing, this is a wonderful challenge. Would post comments, but I don't really feel qualified yet. Just want you all to know that I'm looking and enjoying, very much!

Joanie,

You can take some fine pictures with a 2MP camera. Most of the pictures you'll see here have been re-sized to far less than 2MP but they're still enjoyable to look at.
