I'm working on that tricky issue of DOF with my CanonS3 IS...getting there gradually i think!

Very well done. The DOF is not perfect but it doesn't need to be for this shot. Can you tell us how large that nearest fungoid is and how far away from it were you.

unfortuantely I'm not anal enough to write down all that sort of stuff...but maybe I should be!

....from rough memory the front one that is slighltly out of cofucs would have been a couple of inches across at most. I was probablyno more than6 inch away from it, but obviously focussing a little further away on the clump in the middle.
