Sorry to be so late. It's been a very long day.

I'll answer your questions:

The wires do not cross. There are four of them and they run parallel to each other.

The guesses of chime and autoharp are very close.

I'll let you guess what kind. The size I gave earlier should give it away.

Well, Kita has come closest. It's not actually a door "bell" chime, but a door harp. I'll post a full photo tomorrow. It's way too late right now. Another very long day today.

I guess I made this one tougher than I thought. But, then I knew what it was, too.:-)

Here's the full shot of the door harp. The original shot was taken from the bottom up and it was lying on a table. The angled dark line in the original background photo was one of the ball strings.
