What we are looking at is about 1 1/2 inches tall by about 3/4 inch wide.
It is a solid smooth surface to the touch.
This is an everyday object we are all familiar with.
Comes in many colors, but red is the most common.

I've looked at this numerous times now and just can't figure out what it is. I'm not ready to give up yet, though.

garlam is about the closest, made of hard platic. Not powered in any way. Found in many different places, always for the same use. This one just happens to be on a mode of transportation, but that is just one use.
