That big hotel looks like some of those on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. It looks like you were using an extreme wide angle lens on that first shot. The second looks like a panorama. Can you tell us how both of these were shot?

Good call. Both are panos taken with a Canon S3 IS. The first is stitched from 2 shots taken with a Sony .7x wide converter. The second from 2 shots with a Sony 1.7x tele-converter.

The hotel is the Galt House. The original Galt House was opened in 1837. In March 1864, Ulysses S. Grant and William Tecumseh Sherman met at the Galt House to plan the invasion of Georgia and the capture of Atlanta. The current building was built in 1973.

I really like the 1st pic - very cool! I really have trouble stitching shots together - these are beautifully done.

I, too, like the first shot. I haven't tried stitching anything together since we first got our handheld scanner a long, long time ago. It was a total disaster!! You did a fine job.
