OK, I know the fence isn't the principal subject, but thought the critter shot was a nice one. He patrols our fence after sundown, but caught him in daylight this time.

Here's another "critter" on a fence in Solana, Texas.

You can keep him there, Walter. Looks like he could do some damage to anything he gets those claws into.

On taking our dog for a walk today, he decided he wanted to go chasing a mole he saw. Luckily he couldn't keep up with it.

You are right. It is a nice capture of the creature. What is it by the way?

Is that somebody's pet? We have a lot of opossums in the Kentucky but they definately don't come out in the daytime.

I think that opossum has a cold. A few years back, 'possums were the most prevalent form of road kill in this area. At night, they will walk out in the middle of the road and when they see the headlights of a car, they freeze in place. It might be a good tactic when facing a predator, but you would think they would have the sense to run from something approaching at hight speed with two big eyeballs that are glowing like the sun!

The snail in that second shot looks more like he belong in an aquarium or pond. I don't think he's going to find much to eat on that fence. If you have snales that big, you had better protect your garden and flowerbeds!
