Treasure #1: Little Car. This is one of the rarest small cars you could find. Its called the Amficar and it travels on land and on water. Made back in the '60s I believe.

Treasure #9: Auto Transport. These are Border Patrol vehicles being delivered to South Texas.

The amphicar is a treasure, indeed! I saw one of those in Idaho Falls, ID about 40 years ago. There is a wide section of the Snake River in downtown Idaho Falls that is popular with boaters, rafters and swimmers. A buddy and I were in a rubber raft, having difficulty paddling against the current and being pulled toward the falls. We saw this car enter the river. The driver steered over toward us. We threw him a rope and he towed us safely away from the falls. I was a real treat not only to see one of those cars but to be towed by one also.

Your second shot is somewhat unusual. Although that is a low-boy trailer designed for haulling heavy construction equipment, it is being used to transport smaller vehicles in this. I was looking the the big double-deck transports used for hauling new cars to dealerships but I will accept this.

Both are great shots!

My, my Walter. You are well on your way to completing the list. I'm going to have to do some hunting for some of these things.

Nice photos.

I have a decided head start when it comes to the "small car" and "auto transport" items, since I now have a collection of more than 28,000 digital photos of vehicles that I have shot over the past 8 years. Some of the other "treasures" will be quite difficult, I'm afraid, since the weather isn't cooperating with parachuting and bike riding, and there aren't any covered bridges in this neck of the woods (that I know of).

Great start, Walter. That little car is indeed something else.
