Not very creative, but we were driving by today and thought I'd cover another item.

Figure everyone knows what it is even though they aren't golden in the photo. I was hoping to get the building arch at an interesting angle, but they don't seem to do that any more.

That is an unusual context for the Golden Arches but I have seen it somewhere before. Unfortunately I don't know where. Is that an indoor McDonald's in a shopping mall?

Regarding the exposure problem, your meter was overwhelmed by the bright background. Spot metering on the yellow of the sign may have helped. Using flash would have helped if you were close enough. If you were more than about 15 ft from the sign, flash probably wouldn't help. Your editing software may have a function that simulates fill flash. In Paint Shop Pro, the function is called "Fill Flash"! What it does is brighten all dark areas of the image while leaving the brighter areas unchanged.

Here is the full photo with levels adjustments, Cal. I didn't think we were allowed to do much more than crop. I should have changed to my zoom lens to get closer and spot metered as you said.

  1. Cropping[/*]
  2. Brightness[/*]
  3. Contrast[/*]
  4. Sharpness[/*]
  5. Color Balance[/*]
