This first shot was taken today in a local Catholic Church in Waikiki (St. Augustine by the Sea). The image in the glass is a bit blown by the afternoon sun which was shining directly thru the window and made exposure most difficult trying to get some of the interior of the church to be visible. Some noise is visible in the interior of the church at the top perhaps due to the post editing to sharpen the image a tad.

The second shot was taken a while ago and shows the stained glass from St Andrews Priory. The theme in both windows is definitely tropical if you view the backgrounds carefully. At St Augustine window note the tropical palm trees and in the left of the St Andrews window Hawaiian historical figures are present.

Very nice, Selvin. I also like the reflection of the windows on the flooring.

NHMom, Vanessa, Garlam,

Thank you for your kind comments. The stained glass window at St. Augustine (First shot) is floor to ceiling, quite large. The ceiling is close to 40 feet in height.

Great shots, Selvin. The colors are beautiful. The setting in that first shot is so serene and peaceful, I think I could spend hours meditating there....and I'm not Catholic!.

Is that the white church accross from the Waikiki Beach Marriot Hotel where we stayed when we were there? I got some shots of the outside but no interior shots.

Cal

Bob, Cal, Kalypso,

Thanks for your comments.

Cal, your memory serves you right. Yes, this is the church across the street from The Beach Marriot. Frankly, given the relatively high incidence of church theft etc. I was surprised to find that the church was open during the day.

Aloha
