Nice work in both shots. I have always wanted to visit St. Augustine. How much of the original town has been preserved and how much is modern?

Much of St. Augustine is original or replica. There are few modern style buildings. There is an "Olde Town" area as well that is entirely shops and restaurants. St. Augustine is not really a hot tourist spot like Daytona or Miami. It's a popular weekend trip for Floridians. I highly recommend it if you get a chance.

Isn't St. Augustine the oldest town in the continental USA?

Yes it is. St. Augustine was founded forty-two years before the English colony at Jamestown, Virginia, and fifty-five years before the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts.

Bill,

Your postcard has really motivated me now to go and see St. Augustine on one of my Florida trips. Well Done. I'm due for a Flroida trip this year.

Aloha
