Most people think of Big Sur and the central California coast when they think of Los Padres National Forest, but it is more than that. This is a different little corner, a place to cross country ski, snowboard, and justplay in the snow - something out of the ordinary for most Southern Californians.

Since this point is 10 miles as the crow flies from my community, and a 2 mile snowshoe, I figure it doesn't fall into the hometown category. It's been a while since the last time I was up on the mountain and I've gotten out of shape. That's going to be my excuse since the pictures aren't anywhere close to being as good as Squirl's pictures of Washington.

Even tho I have a personal thing against snow, the scenery still looks inviting. If God had wanted man to like snow he would have given him snowshoes for feet. Just joking.

Thanks for shaing.

Selvin, guess you would probably be more comfortable withtoday's 85 F weather at my office? Actually, it was pretty warm yesterday - I was snowshoeing in shirt sleeves and wishing I had left my sweater behind. Don't think the snow will last long in this weather!
