Although I think these fit in the landscape/nature section too, I can imagine the pictures being postcards in some winter sports regions. What do you think?

Wind, melted snow and sun formed these bizarre structures on lamp poles, branches and so on. I call them "ice surfers" as they remind me of sail boats or surfers. The branches here are like 10-15cm high.

Enjoy!

Yours,
Th.

Outstanding! Those would have been great shots for the last challenge as well. Once again, captions would add a lot to the postcard look.

I came back from a short holiday trip yesterday with these pictures on my SD card Calr... and yes - they would have been so very perfect for the last challenge... I know. But I didn't had them at that time.

As for captions - can try at the weekend and add to these posts. Thanks for the comments on these and the steam engine!

That ice is really neat! I don't think I have ever noticed anything like this before.

Thank you all for the nice comments! I am trying to get the hang on composing while "catching a moment" rather than cropping later. Needs a lot of practise and every bit of encouragement is helpful and welcome.

Awesome. I've never seen ice form like that expecially on something so small.

Hm, I am not really in the mood for this I guess - but I want at least TRY to meet the challenge... do I pass with this as a postcard?

"Harz" is the mountain where the icesurfer pics are from and is also the name of a region surrounding this mountain.

Regards,
Th.

On a second thought - maybe some kind of "framing" could work here... what do you say? I actually like the 2nd "postcard" try better...
