I'm not sure the phone and computer are truly white. I suspect they are more of a beige tone.

Your lighting in this scene needs some help. It appears that the light was coming from directly overhead and that caused the foreground to be dark. If the light was from an overhead light fixture, some fill flash would have helped. If your camera has a setting called "flash compensation", set it for about -2.0 or -3.0. That will reduce the power of the flash so it doesn't overpower the overhead lighting.

I used you tip and set the flash compensation to -1, here is the flash version.The envelope and phone are very white, the computer tower ismore of aoff white.

Thank you Selvin! I appreciated Cal's tip, I still don't think I got the white balance like I need it to be. I used the flash setting on my D-50, I will keep experimenting.
