Thanks for comments everyone.

vsch1, I emptied a 18 countegg crate and flipped it upside down, and then set the eggs back in, it made a nice base. Then just placed layers of eggs ontop of the bottom layer inbetween the other eggs. They stack quite well actually if i had enough eggs it would eventualy make a pyrimid. No eggs were broken. The crate Is rotated so a corner is facing camera head on.
Camera settings were f11 @ 4.5 seconds, flash set fairly low power bounced off ceiling/walls. Room lighting was pretty poor. Lens was Canon 100mm 2.8 macro.
