Idaho Capital Building, a replica of the Capital Building in Washington D.C.

Irealize the flag pole is a little distracting but if I got in front of it I couldn't get the whole building.

Nice shots. I once lived 3 blocks from the US Capitol building and can see the similarities. I like the shot of the dome. The blocks and patterns are most interesting.

I understand your frustration with the flagpole. I can think of two solutions. One is to backup farther and get the entire pole with flags in the picture. The other is shoot an oblique view from about 30-50 ft to either side of the pole. Often times an oblique view is much more interesting than a straight on view as it adds depth to the subject.

It is interesting to note that just a few minutes before viewing your shots, I was running Flight Simulator. I just happened to be flying my Cessna 172 over Boise and got a good closeup view of the capital. The computer model is actually quite good.

Great shots.

Thanks Walter and Cal! I think I will go back and try that oblique view of the capital.

Thank you mcliu. So late in posting because I haven't had time to get out and take pictures. It's always work, work, work .

I really like the clouds in the full view. Almost like you could pluck them out of the sky.
