don't usually wait till the last minute, but i thought i'd throw this one in the ring... first is a close-up of the mural on the Astor Tower in Astoria, Oregon. the mural depicts the early exploration of the region from the first discovery by Europeans throughthe middle 1800's...



and here's the whole thing...

Did you realize that to see the entire mural in the proper order, you need to walk around the column 13 times and should probably have a pair of binoculars to see the top part. After you get over the dizziness and vertigo from running around the column, you need to step inside and climb the stairway to the top. However, you need to see the mural first since you can't see it from the top. If you climb to the top first, when you get back down, you won't care about the mural!!

I think the problem was that the painter's ladder had one leg shorter than the other, and didn't realize it until it was too late. Nice shots BTW.

My first thought was that I'd love to take a school class there with an assignment to get the hisltry on paper....and then sit and watch them...LOL
