Both shots meet the challenge. The first one is the best, in my opinion. The second shot is too busy and confusing. With all the plants and the computer monitor, it is difficult to tell what the subject is. In the first shot, it looks like you were trying to shoot the windows through a window. I think I would have gotten closer so as to get more of the outside window in the picture. It probably wouldn't qualify for the challenge but it would be a better photo.

I have taken the liberty of correcting the subject line of your posting. It is not necessary to put "Biweekly Shootout" in the subject, just the challenge name as specified in the challenge description posting.

Airbrush John,

Welcome to our forum. As Cal noted the first shot is more appealing. Improvements come incrementally and is not linear. It's a good thing they invented digital photography, I'd go broke paying for all the bad shots I've taken over the years.

Your first shot appeals to me beause it is much less cluttered. While the second tries to tell a story it's like when my foot gets caught in my mouth trying to say too much too rapidly.

Aloha

I love the first shot. It has a bygone feeling to it. Makes me want to have seen the house when it was new.
