From the bottom side of a chandelier. It could have been shot straighter in the center, but for the life of me I couldn't seem to stand directly under. I was always too far forward or too far backward.

Beautiful and abstract. If this were displayed anywhere else, it might be construed as some kind of abstract art.

As for finding the center, try tying or taping a piece of string to the center of the chandolier. The string should be long enough to reach the floor. Tie something small like a screw or eraser to the bottom so it hangs a few inches above the floor (or table). Position your camera lens directly under the hanging object (technically called a plumb bob) pointing up. Remove the string and shoot. Assuming the back of your camera is flat, the lens should be pointing dead center to the chandolier. It may take some experimenting to get it the way you want it.

If you try again, please show us the results.
