Our trip to Virginia Beach for our son's wedding afforded us precious few opportunities to shoot on the beach because of incessant rain. The rain stopped one evening long enough for me to take a short (and cold!) walk on the boardwalk.

(I have run the shot through noise reduction software, but some still remains. It was shot at ISO 1600 at 1/3 sec with the camera placed on top of a post for stability.)

I like the composition. With the beach on one side and the hotel on the other it makes for quite a contrast.

The photo is a bit soft. That is probably due to the slow shutter speed and the noise reduction software.

Lovely composition, the starburst around the lights is very nice.

The only additonal touch I could think of would be the inclusion of the lights from some cars. But, that's another day another shot.

Good work.

Aloha

Cal, thanks for your suggestion. I went back and tweaked the levels just a bit and added a little USM. I think it is a definite, although subtle, improvement.

selvin, I agree car lights would make an interesting addition, but alas, this is strictly a pedestrian boardwalk.

How about some guy running, fast, with a flash light?

Nice Pic...
