The first shot is the exterior of St. Patrick's Cathedral in NY City. It is the heart and soul of the US Catholic Diocese. The second is a sample of one of the stained glass windows.

The Cathedral was started in 1858, construction was stalled because of the civil war and then finally completed in 1879. Numerous additions and improvements including the stained glass windows have been done over the years. The cathedral seems out of place at times squeezed between theskyscrapers and stores devoted to crass commercialism. However, if you sit and watch how people react to the scene you realize it was meant to be there.

Enjoy.

Lovely building, Selvin. We never did make it into it when we were there about 10 years ago. Even though we weren't staying very far from it. That stained glass is beautiful.
