One I took a few weeks ago in Salt Lake Cityo of the Mormon Temple. The ground was broken in Feb 1853 and it took 40 years to build. The walls at the base are nine feet thick and six feet thick at the top.

Lots more little tidbits at http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/saltlake/ I hadn't realized there was so much symbolism in the features of the building until I found this site.

NhMom,

Nice capture. Was last there umpteen years ago. Moroni is resplendent as usual blowing his trumpet atop the temple.

Thanks for sharing. Aloha

It has been quite a few years since I have been to Temple Square. It is an impressive site with amazing architecture and beautiful gardens.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo of the temple.

Cal

Thanks, Selvin and Cal. Even though I'm not Mormon I just love that place. So much to photograph.
