This used to be the post office and general store in Mack, Ms. The owner was out turkey hunting and saw me on his land <~there was no fence~> and gave a tour of the place. He showed an old tractor that had a pine tree growing threw it.
Mr. John Mack Alexander also told me his grand pa was the post master general.
He was a really nice guy. It didnt hit me till I stoped at the corner of Mack and Alexander that I had been talking with "Mississippi roylaty":?

PS I went back with my slr to get some better pics. and it was gone.

I like both shots but I especially like the first and the story that goes with it. You said the post office building was gone when you went back. How much time had elapsed. You are lucky you had a camera with you the first time! Sometimes you only get one chance at a shot and if you don't have a camera with you, the only photo that gets recorded is the one in your mind.

Beautiful shot and great story. The flowers in the foreground in the first picture add even more to the photo.

You can't see it in the shot, but Mr. Alexanders grand parents abandoned house is to the left. The flowers are in the front yard . He was telling me that when he was a kid his grand ma/Mrs.Mack would hide Easter eges in thoes flowers.
