This is the oldest known house in NW Europe, at c. 5,800 years old. It's on Papa Westray, a tiny island in Orkney, Scotland. 'Papay' is the terminus of the world's shortest scheduled airline flight, shorter than London Heathrow runway, but much more exciting. See http://www.papawestray.co.uk/papay/pw_official8.html.

Great shot. I wouldn't have thought that houses that far back would so much resemble our modern ones.

Excellent shot. I think I saw this place featured in a TV documentary within the last two weeks. The program featured several ancient sites in the British Isles including some sites on small islands north of the big islands.
