This morning, I went wandering around through the downtown area of the National Park. This photo is of one of the hot springs that give our city its name.

The reputed healing powers of these springs were known to native Americans and were recorded by DeSoto when the Spaniards came through. By the early part of the 20th century, there was a line of magnificent bathhouses such as the Quapaw, shown here.

I like the second shot more than the first. The first is overexposed and much detail is lost in the blown highlights.

The second shot is beautiful. I would be curious to see what a horizontal shot of the building looks like.

Cal, I agree with you on the first one. I wasn't pleased with it and should never have posted it. I tried to replace it with a shot of another bath house, but the software wouldn't let me.

I'll have to take a horizontal of the Quapaw next time I go downtown. I'm not sure how good of a shooting angle I can get for a horizontal, but I'll give it a shot.
