This is a shot of flowers in an architectural setting. Taken at the Oregon Gardens, Silverton, Oregon. This is a garden setting that aspires to be as good as the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. but, after five years, I don't think it even comes close.

Exemplifies the art of vertical composition pretty well but as you noted the gardens doesnt rea;;y grab your attention.

Selvin, what you see here is not representative of the entire garden complex. This is the fence and arbor surrounding a small flower garden maintained by one of the sponsors, a local nursery company. The entire Oregon Garden is the size of several football fields and consists of several gardens representing flora and fauna found around the state of Oregon. This includes wetlands, dessert, rose gardens, trees, ponds, flower gardens, etc. It has matured considerably since it opened about five years ago but is not getting the kind of public support the planners had originally envisioned so I'm not sure what is going to happen to it. I think they have a good idea but perhaps a bad location.

Very nice! The vertical composition only amplifies the strong repeating pattern of the trellis. The splash of pink makesa nice transition from the blue sky to the fence.
