I cropped the original shot removed the color in Photoshop Elements and then added a slight sepia tint.

Now here's a wonderful example of monochrome with a real reason - the subject is essentially monochromatic, and the original isn't the right colours. I love the conversion.

I think I would have gone with a bit stronger sepia color but overall it's a great conversion job.

Cal I decided to go back and explore your suggestion. I recropped the image and added a stronger sepia finish.
What do you think?
