I've been busy getting photos ready for the local fair coming up soon. Came here to take a break and check things out and remembered some of what I'd done fit the category.

I used PSE5 to convert to bw, upping the contrast. then used curves on it I believe on the red, then sharpened and cropped to fit an 8 x 10 frame.

Here's the original which wasn't so great to start with. The bw may go with a series of this area last winter.

Ooooh I love it. Something about naked trees in sillouette.

Great work! I prefer the BW over the color.

To my eye the bush is Ok. But this is a great example of when conversion to monochrome is effective and IMO, better than the original.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, everyone. Let's hope the judges think so, too.

I kind of like the little bush in it as it draws you down to the shadow of the tree. Although, I wondered at one point if it maybe overwhelmed the shadow.

Very, very nice indeed. I, also, really like the B&W vs the color version.

Thanks, Steve.

Haven't had much time to be on here lately. Am hoping to have some time this weekend to look at what everyone's been posting.
