My dad at my daughter's college graduation. For those in Indiana...we told him he could wear his Wabash hat for the pictures, but not the graduation (big college rivalry).

Good capture, Vanessa. I believe you used fill flash? I've been using it more and more (although I'm not a big fan of flash) and I find that sometimes it eliminates shaded areas that wouldhave addeddepth and contrast to the imagegiving them a more natural look.

Thanks Tuliio, this was a tough photography day. The sun was very bright and high in the sky and I had family, inlaws, grandparents andkids...all hot and sticky and we needed family photos before one group took off to the airport, another to move the graduate out of the dorm and to the airportand another had a 2 hour drive home. So, we had bad lighting and grumpy subjects. LOL

I moved them all into the shade of a building, set the camera and hoped for the best.

I wish my 'hope for best' shots turned out as well as this characterful portrait! Perhaps it's the setting of the camera and the person pushing the button.

Great shot! If he wore that baseball cap to the graduation, it would probably be grounds for deportation!.

This gentleman looks a lot like one of my wife's uncles who lives in Idaho Falls, ID.

Vanessa,

Lovely work.

Yes, graduation times call for taking tons of shots and culling later.

Nice shot. Great job keeping the flash reflection out of those large eyeglass lenses.
